I have been baking sourdough for my family since 2020 when everyone picked up a sourdough starter. It transformed the way I thought about bread and made me realize bread is more than just something to hold a sandwich together. It is made to be shared, to nourish and to bring joy; from simple, local ingredients into a beautiful aromatic delight. I enjoy working with my hands so it was smooth transition from being a Massage Therapist to a home baker. Maybe I can’t fix the broken bones nor the broken food system, but I can choose simple, local ingredients to make a nutrient rich bread to nourish my community. And I believe it all starts local.
